Just Wow!  This collection is just in from Afghanistan with a lovely range of beautiful bi-color and watermelon tourmaline.  Individual pictures will be taken, and gemstones will be sold individually in a range from $40-$400 depending on size, color, and clarity.  If you see one just you just have-to-have, send us an email!

Tourmaline is highly valued for its vast range of colors and hues, one of the widest ranges of any gem.  Major geographic sources of these gems include:  United States, Afghanistan, Brazil, Madagascar, and China.

According to the GIA: "People have probably used tourmaline as a gem for centuries, but until the development of modern mineralogy, they identified it as some other stone such as ruby, sapphire, emerald, and so forth, based on its coloring.  One of the earliest reports of tourmaline in California was in 1892. In the late 1800s, tourmaline became known as an American gem through the efforts of Tiffany gemologist George F. Kunz.  He wrote about the tourmaline deposits of Maine and California, and praised the stones they produced."
