A search for a blue diamond ring led to the creation of a business to provide authentic, beautiful, unique pieces in a trusted environment. During several weeks recovering from a surgery, I spent time searching for a ring I really wanted 10 years ago on a cruise. In my online search, I found overwhelming variability, false marketing, poor imagery, and many, many questionable businesses. A researcher at heart, I spent countless hours studying metal quality, gemstone quality, and evaluating sellers for my own personal purchases. I joined the International Gem Society and began educational courses. I attended an intensive 5-day bench jeweler course at the Drouhard National Jewelers School. Then, I contracted with two consulting firms, crafted business relationships and built SFJ for discerning clients like you.

With the knowledge gained, I endeavored to operate a concierge business model and provide exceptional value by sourcing the highest quality products for clients, because everyone should have beautiful things that remind them who they are... whether they buy for themselves or whether a loved one buys for them.

What about this desire for freedom? I have served 24 years on active duty in the Air Force, in support of freedom. I've moved eight times, every two years for the past six years. I've deployed three times to the Middle East. But I'm being called to my own personal freedom. I've spent my adult life in the sciences and leadership as a Healthcare Executive and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Now, I want to create. I want to build beautiful things. I want to add beauty to people's lives. And, I want more freedom. Freedom in my future means working as hard as always, but according to my own schedule and for my own business. Being home more, having more emotional space for my children, being able to travel more, camp, hike, mountain bike, kayak and stand-up paddleboard.
